California lifesavers and ocean athletes compete for overall points and prize money in the San Clemente Ocean Festival Lifeguard Competition. Racers score points 1st through 10th in each event and relays. Participants can enter as many events as they want. SCOF will score all racers events.

ENTRY INFO:

Open to the public, registration begins at 7:00 a.m. North side of the San Clemente Pier. All ages permitted. Pre-registration online by Friday, July 18th, 11:59pm, $70 (you may enter unlimited lifeguard events). Event Day Registration is $80. Entry also includes commemorative San Clemente Ocean Festival event tee and competitor’s kit from sponsors.

FORMAT & RULES:

No wetsuits allowed in swim events. The NDA races, Rescue Relay and Paddleboard Rescue Relay races are worth double points and will be split evenly amongst two-person teams. Dory Events OPEN to both men’s & women’s teams. Both National Doryman’s Association (NDA) Events 1 & 2 will be run as one heat.

Event Rules & Courses will be posted at the event site.

*Paddleboard Sprint, Paddleboard Rescue Relay, & International Ironman - 10’6” paddleboard

*Surf Ski Race - lifeguard spec.

*Dory - NDA spec

AWARDS/PRIZE MONEY:

Special prizes awarded to first place finishers in each event. Overall Award for Champion Waterman & Waterwoman, top point scorer. Prize money awarded to overall point scorers.

Men: 1st place $500 / 2nd place $400 / 3rd place $300 / 4th place $200 Women: 1st place $500 / 2nd place $400 / 3rd place $300 / 4th place $200 NDA Races 1 & 2: 1st place $300 / 2nd place $200 / 3rd place $100

Land Line Rescue Relay winning team will be awarded $400 cash prize.
