The ancient Polynesian sport of Bodysurfing is said to have been first observed by Captain Cook, when he discovered the Hawaiian Islands. Bodysurfing is a sport for everyone and is best described as the art of wave riding using only your body as your board. This art brings wave riding skills, ocean knowledge and swimming together into one sport.
Entry information : The Southern California Bodysurfing Championships is open to everyone, age 12 and above. Registration begins at 6:00 A.M. on the north side of the pier & main stage. Entry fee is $30 (and day of event, if space permits). Space is limited. Each competitor receives an Ocean Festival t-shirt and competitor kit. Awards for 1st-6th place.
