The ancient Polynesian sport of Bodysurfing is said to have been first observed by Captain Cook, when he discovered the Hawaiian Islands. Bodysurfing is a sport for everyone and is best described as the art of wave riding using only your body as your board. This art brings wave riding skills, ocean knowledge and swimming together into one sport.
Entry information : The Southern California Bodysurfing Championships is open to everyone, age 12 and above. Registration begins at 6:00 A.M. on the north side of the pier & main stage. Entry fee is $40 and each competitor receives a Ocean Festival t-shirt and competitor kit. Children must be accompanied by an adult. See registration form for contest rules and information
